Bob Constan - Michigan house of representatives 16th district house seat which encompasses Garden City, Inkster, and portions of Dearborn Heights and Allen Park.

Bob wrote:

These are hard times and Michigan faces numerous problems, Mr. Constan said. We have to improve our State's economy to assure that we provide incentives for businesses to create new jobs and retain those we already have. Our work force must grow. Michigan's jobless rate has steadily risen above the national average, and our unemployed workers struggle to make ends meet. Health care and prescription drugs force our citizens to go without necessary medical care. I will fight for adequate school funding for our school children. Constan said, We can do better, and I want the opportunity to work with Governor Granholm and members of the Legislature to overcome these and the myriad of other challenges that lie ahead.

Bob Constan is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. Mr Constan has been a licensed attorney in Michigan for nearly two decades, he has assisted many clients, mostly working class and seniors from the area. As a member of the State Bar of Michigan he joined the Probate and Estate Planning Section. He is also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons Attorney Legal Network and was elected in 2005 as President of the Dearborn Area Bar Association.

A life-long Democrat and member of the Michigan Democratic Party, Bob previously served as the Secretary for the 15th District Democrats in U. S. Congressman John Dingell's Congressional District. On numerous occasions he has been elected a Precinct Delegate and worked with the Democratic Party on Voter Protection issues. He worked on the campaign to re-elect Congressman John Dingell, as well as on others which include Senator John Kerry and Wayne County Executive, Bob Ficano.

Mr. Constan has served as Chair of the Watershed Stewards Commission and the Annual Ecorse Creek Cleanup for Dearborn Heights and surrounding communities. He is the Secretary of the Dearborn Heights Goodfellows, and is active in the Goodfellows Old Newsboy organization. He is a Dearborn Heights City Councilman. Since 2003, he has been serving the Council as their Chair Pro Tem. As a member of the Dearborn Heights Kiwanis Club, he is a past-President (1994-95), and was named Kiwanian of the Year.

It is his strong belief that I am the ideal candidate and the best qualified person to continue his efforts in the Michigan Legislature. Plakas said, Bob possesses a strong work ethic and exhibits a remarkable sense of public service, as well as the integrity to perform a thorough and exemplary job. His abilities are numerous and I believe he will be a great asset to our district and to Michigan.

Bob Constan is 46 years old. He and his wife, Kim, have been married for 15 years and are proud parents of three children. Bob is an Usher and Lecture at their church.
