Bob Constans - local endorsements:
The previous State Representative, Jim Plakas-Democrat, Garden City, completed his third, two-year term, and could not run again because of term limits. Jim Plakas endorsed Bob Constan for the Michigan State House of Representatives because Jim Plakas believes Bob Constan is the best candidate to continue Jim Plakas'legacy of fighting to keep good paying jobs in Michigan, fighting for adequate funding for Education, and fighting to insure that Health Care is available and affordable for working families in Michigan. Bob Constan's candidacy for the State House of Representatives was endorsed by Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko, Inkster Mayor Hillard Hampton, previous State Representative Jim Plakas and Wayne County Commissioner Phil Cavanagh.
Bob Constan’s run for State Representative was endorsed by current 16th District State Representative Jim A. Plakas, and the Mayors or elected officials of the Cities that make up the 16th District; Garden City, Inkster, Dearborn Heights and Allen Park.
United States Congressman John Dingell, the Dean of the U.S. Congress, also endorsed Bob Constan. State Senators Ray Basham and Burton Leland have both supported Bob Constan.
State Representatives Gino Polidori, Andy Dillon and Jim A. Plakas all endorsed Bob Constan, as well as former State Representatives Bill O'Neil, Bob Brown and Richard A. Young. Bob Constan was endorsed by Wayne County Executive Bob Ficano, and Wayne County Commissioners Phil Cavanagh and Kay Beard.
Bob Constan's campaign was endorsed by the United Auto Workers, the AFL-CIO, A.F.S.C.M.E., the Greater Detroit Building and Construction Trades Council, the Boilermakers and Iron Ship Builders, the American Federation of Teachers and the Michigan Education Association.
Bob Constan was also endorsed by the Wayne Oakland Board of Realtors, the Deputy Sherriff's Association of Michigan and the Dearborn Heights Police Officer’s Patrolman's Union.
Bob Constan's candidacy for State Representative was whole heartedly endorsed by the Detroit News, the Detroit Free Press, the Inkster Ledger Star and the Garden City Observer. The Garden City Observer wrote that Bob Constan stands out amongst the four candidates running for State Representative, and that Bob Constan has the experience and background to fight for the dollars needed in the 16th District.
The Garden City Observer wrote:
We are impressed with the knowledge he has and believe that makes him the best person to fill the Democratic Party's slot. We recommend Bob Constan in the Democratic Primary Tuesday, August 8."
Bob Constan was also endorsed by the Democratic Clubs of Dearborn Heights, Inkster and Garden City, and the 11th, 14th and 15th Democratic Congressional Organizations. The Polish American Citizens for Equity and the Polish Advocates Bar Association all endorsed Bob Constan for State Representative.
